Lou Liska lives / works near Vienna. Social, economic and political power dynamics and dominance structures are a steady constant in the artistic exploration, which is repeatedly dedicated to the weak, the oppressed and is interested in imaginary, non-binary visions of the future. Using different media the colourful, figurative and enigmatic style likes to pick up on unspoken tensions and fears, but also hopes of modern societies. Queer is on the one hand a self-description and on the other a subversive strategy of radical openness.

"I am interested in the human condition and its relation to nature between the pace of personal learning and development and the constantly accelerating processes of technical action and innovation. Matter has long since decoupled from process. The exciting question for me is whether and how a reconnection, perhaps even a kind of unison, can be achieved again? The desire that drives a body and the pleasure that nourishes a body may be driving forces in this enterprise."
